Oaxaca

Iglesia de Santo Domingo
The largest of Oaxaca's 27 cathedrals, and one of the most stunning buildings I saw in Mexico.  The sky really was that color.

Dawn.  The light on the buildings is my favorite part of this one.

Here is a fun place.
Mezcal is to Oaxaca as coffee it to the Pacific Northwest: ubiquitous and taken very seriously.

Monte Alban.  Here, from 200 B.C. to 950 A.D. the Zapotecs Built their spectacular mountaintop city.  They leveled the top of Monte Alban, thus assuring spectacular views of the valley floor from every angle.  The ruins, though rebuilt, are impressive for their extent and size.
