Ibises.

The Torres del Paine. This is the view from up above Campamiento Torres. It is a steep boulder scramble to get up here, and you leave the lush green forests and enter a purely mineral landscape.

I was blessed with good weather. Typically one hikes through off and on rain, the weather of Patagonia being volatile and ever-changing. I had no rain and generally clear skies. Sure it was windy one day. Along the trail I was trying to describe the wind to a couple of people who had not yet experienced it. They made some mention of flying kites. "Kites!?!?!" I said, "Pah!!! You could have flown a grapefruit in that wind!"

Puro Patagonia.
