Located in the Santa Fe National Forest, just outside of Los Alamos, the Guaje Ridge trail can be accessed from Pajarito ski area for a long and satisfying descent back into town.  The trail crosses through the hot burn area of the 2000 Cerro Grande fire, which lends a post-apocalyptic feel to much of the ride. And on windy days there is a lingering danger of tree fall. Still and all, it is a fantastic ride.

The final pitch before the descent.
